Special Shapes Sets

Our Special Shapes Collection is just what it sounds like. We extend our use of the traditional 1-3/8" x 2-3/4" x 5-1/2" unit (the foundation for block play) to sets with a variety of less common shapes, including triangles, curves, and blocks that naturally "fit together". We combine a wide range of block sizes and shapes in these sets, adding some ideas unique to Beka for even more fun. As always, each assortment provides a wide range of building options to the children using them. Choose individual sets or combine multiple sets for even more creative opportunities. Our Special Shapes Block Sets give you an opportunity to puchase a large assortment of block sizes and shapes, or a small selection of unique shapes to "top off" existing block sets. 

As block play enthusiasts, we give ourselves permission to experiment with unconventional ideas....like adding wooden wheels (or maybe they’re legs, or arms, or wings...) to traditional block shapes.  The results are our Block Buddies and "Whimsies", or whimsical wheeled blocks.  They become cars, bugs, friendly animals and more.  We named each "Whimsie" after their traditional block shape name.  Needless to say, we had fun in the process.  We hope you have fun, too!

Meet our Whimsies:  Gary Gothic, Larry Large, Roman Archie, Sally Circle, Timmy Triangle and Katie Pillar.  Request them individually, as a set of six, or get two of our favorites (Sally and Timmy) in our Little Builder & Whimsie 30 pc block set.
